"Hello sir or ma'am, would you care to purchase this fine kettle cozy?" - Edwin Quabble
Location: Port Sail
Edwin Quabble has a knack for fixing watches. The kind of knack that would get any run down hunk of metal with cogs in it ticking. So he opened the Ticking Quabble, and made good money in the beginning fixing all sorts of watches and clocks. Eventually, people just kept selling him old ones they got out of storage or found in some other obscure location , to a point where he spent most of his time fixing watches, and hardly a tick selling them. Then came the voices. Edwin had spent so much time in solitude constantly fixing one watch after the other, that he completely lost his grip on "normal" social behavior. After scaring off his customers with outbursts of insane ramblings and profanity, his store became overstocked with clocks and watches. Hanging from every pillar and every inch of wall, all with blank price tags on them. After a few months of not a single customer, Edwin had finally come to realize that things were looking grim. He wiped the dust off the window to look outside, and saw somebody walking down the street with a beautiful old vase. He quickly ran outside and asked how much the lady would sell it to him for. He had just enough to buy it. A few transactions later he became recognized as an aspired antique/knick knack shop, along with lots of time tellers. He renamed his business the Laden Quabble, and his store is so filled that browsing his wares in groups of 2 or more is highly unadvised.
Most of his wares now are common, mundane, and damn near worthless. But he has been known to come across items of value, which he is always keen to pick out.
Edwin's quirks - He's a lunatic. He hears ticking noises all day and all night long, regardless of what he's nearby. He sometimes talks to the things he's fixing. But somehow he's managed to stay in business. Edwin occasionally will show brief moments of his ancient intellect.
